A bathroom whose ceiling has collapsed. No matter how large the loss, SERVPRO of San Diego East can handle it!

Did you know that one of the cheapest pieces on a toilet can cause the most expensive damage?

The toilet supply line refills the tank after every flush. What connects them is a small plastic washer that stops any water from leaking.

These washers can cost anywhere from three to six  dollars, and should be changed every three to five years. Unfortunately this is such a small piece that many property owners forget to replace them, and after awhile, due to water pressure these washer crack and break.

This is a downstairs toilet, above this restroom is another restroom, where the plastic washer broke in the middle of the night. Water poured out for over 6 hours, until the floor collapsed on top of the 1st floor bathroom.

Moral of the story? Change the plastic washer in your toilet!
