What To Do Until Help Arrives
Over flowing toilet, sink back up, dish washer leak, broken line in refrigerator...the list can go on, but all these are probable causes for a water loss in your home or property.
You have called your local SERVPRO and are now waiting for them to arrive, but what do you do until then?
SERVPRO of San Diego East has a very important rule we follow called the "1-4-8 Policy."
Which is to contact the property owner within 1 hour of the First Notice of Loss, be on site within 4 hours, and contact the Insurance Carrier within 8 hours.
For some that may be too little time depending on the loss, so what should you do until then?
The first thing we recommend at SERVPRO of San Diego East, is turn off the water to your home or property.
Next we would always recommend to store all valuables in safe places, as to not get them damaged in water.
Moving furniture around is always important as well!
Once SERVPRO of San Diego East arrives we can take care of the rest!
