There are six steps that SERVPRO of San Diego East takes in order to restore water damage loss. The steps are: emergency contact, inspection and damage assessment, water removal or water extraction, drying and dehumidification, cleaning and repair, and finally restoration. For this next week we will be focusing on these steps. Lets dive into the first step.

The first step of water damage restoration is emergency contact. As you may know SERVPRO of San Diego East is a 24 hour 7 days a week business. We are dedicated in water emergencies. It’s extremely important to call as soon as you see water damage, allowing water to sit in your home can increase damage; increase in damage also means increase in cost. 

Once you have called typically the SERVPRO representative will walk you through steps to follow in order to decrease the water flow. The representative will ask you various questions regarding your water damage emergency. This is to ensure the proper service and equipment are going to be used. 

Here is a list of questions to expect:

  • Your name and contact information
  • Your property or home insurance information
  • The street address of where the water damage emergency occurred
  • The time of flooding or water damage
  • The cause of water damage
  • And if there is electricity available
